![]() ![]() Star Wars loves to throw its good guys into shady bars and clubs, and it will continue to do so thanks to the influence of the Mos Eisley cantina." Hmm. Nevertheless, the brief glimpse inside the cantina is enough to satiate the audience’s hunger to see more of the weird and wacky characters in the universe, at least in terms of A New Hope's scope. It’s hard to guess what other ruckus must go on there offscreen. Ponda Baba loses an arm and Greedo loses his life (because Han shot first) all in the short span of time the main characters are in the Mos Eisley cantina. What was originally a throwaway line by Wuher in A New Hope continues to inspire the creation of other Star Wars characters today. In fact, much of Mando's backstory is actually similar to Wuher in that they both lost their family to battle droids during the Clone Wars. This attribute was unique to his character at the time, and later, the Mandalorian shares his hatred for droids.
